The National Portrait Gallery

Next, we walked over to the Portrait Gallery. It is a Museum that has tons of real life portaits... My favorite was the portrait of Juliette Gordon Low, the founder of the Girl Scouts... I just thought it was pretty :)

The courtyard is beautiful! It was nice and cool in there too! We stopped here for a few minutes, and got some drinks from the cafe. If you have never been to any of the eateries in the Smithsonian Museum's, you should know that they are incredibly expensive!! We got two 12 oz. waters and a chocolate milk and it was $8.31...that's more expensive than DisneyWorld!!

That portrait is called "Grant and his Generals" it has a whole bunch of Military leaders on it, I thought it was WAY cool ;) It had Grant out in front, but also had Custer, Schofield, Meade, Sherman and many many others on it... the guy who painted it, visited each of the subjects wherever they were to paint them, but put them all together in the painting.... this place is really neat!

After that, we walked back to the car and drove home, picking up Subway for dinner first :)
